It was summer fun and summer learning for 49 girl scouts from the Carbon Girl Scout Service Unit. The group included Brownies and Juniors. The annual event was for held three days last week at the home of Patty and Steve Rigby.
Ages five through 11 years, the girls divided their time between six stations and each station had a science theme. “Step into Science” was the overall theme and the various stops were: bottle biology, water world, light works, seedy business, happy forest and chemical reaction.
Each girl earned merit badges for completing various projects.
Patty Rigby serves as unit director for the Carbon Service Unit, while Barb Limone was the camp director.
At each station over the three days the girls were exposed to hundreds of experiments and hand-on projects pertaining to the various stations.
And they found that science is fun.
