Former Green River athlete to play for BYU. Kalen Parsons, former Green River High athlete has signed to play baseball with Brigham Young University. Parson was a 2001 graduate and was awarded the most valuable player award in both baseball and basketball at the Green River school.
Parsons recently graduated from College of Eastern Utah and pitched for the college’s baseball team. He is currently competing in Decatur, Illinois where he is on a 48 game schedule to pitch for the Decatur Blues in the Central Illinois College League which is sanctioned by MLB and NCAA.
Senior bicyling club to form in Price. Carbon County resident Richard Morley is currently in the process of forming a senior bicycling club for local citizens.
According to Morley, the main focus of the club is to keep local residents age 50 and older in good physical condition while enjoying one anothers company.
By the end of the summer, Morley hopes that the bicycling group will be able to ride to the top of Spring Canyon with the journey beginning in Price for a total of 32 miles roundtrip.
