Delma Dougherty


HELPER – Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and dear neighbor, Delma Zorn Dougherty, age 82, passed away June 10, 2003 at her home.
She was born July 8, 1920 in Soldier Summit to George and Mary Fennell Zorn. Married Fred H. Dougherty Nov. 18, 1942 in Price. He died Jan. 29, 1980.
Delma was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Merry-Mix-Ups.
Delma enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard and she especially loved watching her grandson’s baseball games.
Delma was a kind and loving person who dearly loved helping and caring for others. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by son, Patrick (Annette) Dougherty, Spring Glen; grandsons, Travis and Preston Wilson; brother, Delbert Zorn, Green River, Wyo.; three sisters, Edith (Lynn) Nielson, Blackfoot, Idaho; Irene Perri, Spring Glen; Doris Rae (Luke) Pappas, San Bernardino, Calif.; and special nephew, Rory Cripps, Spring Glen. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Ed, Cecil and Clyde Zorn.
Funeral Mass Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church. Vigil service Friday evening, 7 p.m., at the church in Helper. Family will be at the church Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helper.

LITTLETON, Colo. – Mike M. Kanderis of Littleton, Colo., passed away June 7.
Active member of El Jebel Shrine, ROJ 138 and Sandblast-ers. Father of Shane, Dennis and Jennifer; and the brother of Stella Melonakis and Mary Spencer. Also survived by six grandchildren.
Visitation Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wad-worth Boulevard, Denver, Colo. Funeral service Thursday, 2 p.m., St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 5555 S. Yosemite, Greenwood Village. Scottish Rite Rose Croix Service, Friday, noon, at Municipal Cemetery, Grand Junction, Colo.

Maxine Brotherson


ELMO – Maxine Brotherson, age 88, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Castleview Hospital.
She was born Jan. 21, 1915 in Cleveland to Bouther H. and Mary Helena Johnson Erickson. Married Lynn Brotherson Nov. 23, 1933.
Survived by sons, Floyd and David Brotherson; daughters, Connie Evans, JoAn Nieder, Mary Lou Steele, Earline Jenkins and Paulette Ulberg; 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband.
A celebration of her life will be presented on Saturday, June 14, at 5 p.m. at her daughter’s home, located at 2nd East and Main Street in Elmo.
