As the temperatures continue to climb in the Castle Valley area, animals in Carbon County will begin to feel the affect of the hot summer months.
In order to keep pets healthy and comfortable during the next several weeks, Carbon County residents are reminded to supply the animals with an adequate amount of cool, fresh water to avoid dehydration.
If possible, the animals should also be provided with sources of shade in order for the pet to escape from the direct rays of the sun.
Finally, local residents are reminded that closing a pet inside of a motor vehicle with the windows closed is extremely dangerous.
In a matter of minutes, the temperature inside a vehicle can climb to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The stiffling heat can prove fatal to animalS trapped inside a passenger car, pickup truck or travel home.
