Letter to the Editor: Cemetery a disappointment

By Sun Advocate

Editor:
Over Memorial Day weekend we took flowers to the cemeteries to decorate the graves of relatives.
I have always been proud of how well the Helper Cemetery has been taken care of. It is a big job, but you could always tell a lot of work and extra care had gone into it’s maintenance.
What a sad disappointment it was this year. The lawn hadn’t been trimmed very well, if at all. Most of the water faucets weren’t even turned on, except at the entrance. On this weekend in the past there have always been volunteers with golf carts to help those that needed assistance to get around.
All of this takes time and commitment from a lot of people, but it has always been something Helper residents have been proud of.
I hope more consideration will be given in the future.
