Chris Hatch gets caught between first and second base against Delta during Carbon final home game of the regular season last Tuesday. Hatch scrambled back to first but was ruled out. The Dinos defeated Delta 5-0 in the Region 8 match up.

The Carbon Dinos competed against their final Region 8 opponent of the season last Tuesday afternoon as Delta made an appearance on the Dino field.
During the game, Carbon continued to play strong and extended their winning streak to eight games.
Dino pitcher Troy Grundy continued to perform well by pitching a no-hitter against the Rabbits. Grundy struck out 15 Delta hitters and walked only two during the region competition.
Mike Smith also contributed to the Dinos win by driving in three runs.
Entering the bottom of seventh inning, Carbon found themselves in control of the game and forced the match up into an abrupt conclusion.
The Dinos easily defeated Delta 5-0 and remain undefeated during regular season action.
This is the final week of season action and Carbon traveled to Park City Wednesday and will compete in their final game Friday against Wasatch.
Carbon will kick off post season action May 10 as they host the number four seed in Region 10. This will be a state play in game and will officially kick off this years playoff action.
The Dinos are entering the post season as the Region 8 champions.
`Despite the successful season record, Dino coach Lane Herrick remains focused and is determined for his team to do the same.
“We will take things one game at a time. We can’t get ahead of ourselves and we have to keep our minds in the game. So far, these kids have done that and their attitude has been nothing but positive all year,” explained the coach.
With a little more than a week remaining before playoff action, the Dinos will continue to sharpen up their skills and will remain focused.
According to Herrick, talent is on the Dinos side, but now is the time to prove how good this year’s Carbon team really is.
