John, Randy, and Debbie Jones opened Square Deal Used Appliances in Helper in August of 2001.
Previously they owned and operated John’s Used Appliances from Elmo in the early 90s and when Square Deal opened some of the appliances from John’s Used Appliances were still operating.
They sell reconditioned washers, dryers, fridges, stoves, and they come with a 60 day unconditiional warranty.
“We go completely through them and put them back together,” explained Jones. “We’ve had some fun times with the business. We won trophies two years in a row from the St. Patrick’s Parade in Price.”
The original owner of the building gave the Jones permission to use the name Square Deal. It was a former IGA General Merchandise store.
Besides their hard work with reconditioned appliances the Jones work hard organizing the venders of the annual Helper Arts Festival.
