The basketball season is over, but the accolades continue to pour in for Carbon High athletes.
Recently, the annual all-state basketball team rosters were released and among the athetes honored were several Dino all-stars.
Included on the Salt Lake Tribune Class 3A girls all-state roster were the dynamic duo of the Warburton sisters.
The eldest of the duo, Chelsey Warburton was selected as a member of the first team roster.
Sophomore athlete, Morgan Warburton was added to the Class 3A second team lineup.
The sisters were also included on the Deseret News all-state roster. The second team lineup found Morgan Warburton included on the list while the third team included senior, Chelsey Warburton.
The eldest of the two sisters was also selected to compete in the annual Utah Women’s Basketball Coach’s Association’s all-star game which took place last month.
Although the senior athlete suffered a serious knee injury during an early season game, Warburton sat out most of the season, but her contributions prior to the injury claimed her a roster position on the state’s high school athletics special teams lists.
In the past several years, Carbon High girls athletic’s has witnessed an era dominated by Warburton athletes.

Last year, the Dinos had three sisters on many of their team rosters and this year two remained.
As the end of the Warburton sister legacy draws to an end, the youngest sister will remain at Carbon High for the next two years and is expected to be a dominant and strong athlete for the Dino’s athletic clubs, particularly in basketball.
This year, the boy’s basketball team at Carbon had their share of ups and downs. Throughout it all however, the team remained focused and had a season which will not soon be forgotten.
This year, several Dinos were included on the annual all-state rosters for their performance on the hardwood floor.
Joe Moynier was named to the Tribune’s Class 3A second team roster. Moynier had a year filled with success as he lead the team in scoring by averaging 16.95 points per game.
Receiving honorable mention by the Deseret News was Moynier and teammate, Neal Maynes who also had a successful season with Carbon.
Maynes was a key scorer for the Dinos this year and made shooting the basketball look effortless.
Maynes and Moynier were also named to the all-region first team by the Deseret News.
Also included on the Region 8 all-star roster was Tyson Hackwell and Jamal Lewis who were both placed on the second team roster. Both athletes had a strong season with the Dinos.
