Bo Christensen rushes to save the ball during a tennis match last week against Lehi. The Dinos competed against North Sanpete Tuesday and the team captured a Region 8 victory by the final score of 3-2.

The Carbon High tennis season if half over and the team record stands at 3-1.
The season kicked off with a 4-1 victory over Uintah in a home match up.
The second match ended in a 5-0 victory in favor of the Dinos against Delta.
The third match ended in disappointment for the Dinos as they fell to Lehi by the final 0-5.
This past Tuesday, the Carbon team traveled to North Sanpete and won a very close match by the final, 3-2.
At number one singles, Joe Harber has a personal record of 3-1 while at number two singles, Bo Christensen stands at 1-3. Each of Christensen’s losses have been close however.
Kellen Spillman is playing at number three singles and has a record of 3-1.
Assistant coach, Matt King explains that the Dinos have used a variety of players and combinations of players at doubles.
Currently, Neal Maynes and Sean Watkins are at number one doubles and are coming off of a 7-5, 6-4 victory over North Sanpete opponents, Tyson Jarrett and Stephen Larsen.
At number two doubles, Chris Powell, Matt Braby, Carter Simpkins, Ryne Vogel and Andrew Christensen have all seen action.
King explains that it still is not clear which players will step up and claim the number two doubles spot for the region and state tournaments.
Jacob Petty has also seen junior varsity action this year.
Of the 11 layers on this year’s tennis team, six are seniors and five are juniors.
“There will definitely be roster spots open on next year’s team. So, next March, when the tennis season starts again, anyone interested in playing is encouraged to come out,” King stated.
The Dinos were scheduled to compete on the road Wednesday against Uintah. The team will return to Carbon County next Tuesday as they host Region 8 opponent, Delta.
