PRICE- Tony Fred Joe Duran, age 15 died March 11, 2003 in Price.
Tony was born May 6, 1987 in Price. He enjoyed driving his “Eclipse” and sports cars.
Tony loved hunting, camping, fishing, golfing, and baseball. He loved racing his motor bike, playing his Playstation II and bike riding. He loved playing the kissing game with Sylvia Fantin, his first true love.
He is survived by his parents, Bernadette Quintana, Price; Fred (Margie) Duran, Price; grandparents, Bernice (Jerry) Chavez, Price; stepfather, Duane Quintana, Price; brother, Christopher Quintana, Price; two sisters, Susan Quintana, Price; Jennifer Duran, Salt Lake; aunt, Marie Duran, Price; tio, Freddie Duran, Price; three stepbrothers, Robert, Sig and Isacc; one stepsister, Brandi; girlfriend, Sylvia Fantin, Price; grandma, Pauline San-doval, Price; grandma, Stella Quintana, Price; best friend and golfing buddy, Joe Martinez, Salt Lake City; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, March 15, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service, Friday evening 7:00 p.m. at the church in Price. The family will be at the church Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.


Henry Edmondson

‘Poppa’


HELPER – Henry E. Edmondson, age 80, passed away March 12, 2003 at Parkdale Care Center.
Born July 5, 1922 in Herrin, Ill. to Lum and Mary Collier Edmondson. Married Wilma Donelson Nov. 3, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Graduate of Harrisburg Township High School Class of 1940 in Harrisburg, Ill. Served U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II in California, China and the South Pacific.
Resident of Carbon County since 1970, where he owned and operated the Arrow Club with his wife for many years. He also drove bus for the Carbon School District and Notre Dame Regional School.
Henry proudly served his flag and was a devoted member of the VFW Miners Post 2379 and the Price American Legion Post 3. He deeply loved his family and enjoyed cooking, baking and baseball.
Henry will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survived by loving wife, Wilma Edmondson, Helper; daughters, Deloris Markakis and Karla Edmondson; five grandchildren, Melissa (Casey) Hammack; Amy (Doug) Olson, all of Price; Matthew (Amy) Markakis, Grand Junction, Colo.; Kennedy Byrd, Carson Byrd, both of Price; great-granddaughter, Madison Long, Grand Junction, Colo. Also survived by brother Jerral (Thelma) Edmondson, Marion, Ill.; and sister Marie Harrison, Marion, Ill. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Estelle Edmondson, Aileen Furlow, Evelyn Lollar; infant son, Lester Edmondson; and son-in-law, Alex Markakis.
Funeral service Saturday, March 15, 2 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday evening, 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.


Delise Staley


EMERY – Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and angel, Delise Rae Staley was surrounded by her family she loved when she left this mortal life and returned to her heavenly home March 11, 2003 in Emery.
She was born Aug. 10, 1933 in Spring Canyon to LeGrand W. and Mary Jumper Henningson. She married Wayne Staley Dec. 16, 1950 in Emery and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Sept. 12, 1995.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings in the organizations of the church.
Her greatest love in her life was her home and family and the time they spent together.
She is survived by husband of 52 years, Wayne Staley of Emery; children, Victor (Joyce) Staley, Orangeville; Sue (Kim) Jones, Orangeville; Ben Staley, Emery; Jeff (Leslie) Staley, Emery; and Kathryn Staley, Emery. Also 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Neil (Maxine) Henningson, East Carbon; Dorothy Pulley, Emery, Jean Zwahlen, Murray; Hazel (Dick) Cox, Emery; and FloAnn (Bevan) Wilson, Huntington. She was preceded in death by parents; and grandson, Jason.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Emery LDS Ward Chapel, Friday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the chapel Saturday, March 15, noon, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Emery City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale.
