Lady Eagles continue Scenic West season

By Sun Advocate

With only six games remaining in the regular season, the College of Eastern Utah Lady Eagles look forward to competing against all Scenic West Athletic Conference teams.
The past two weeks, the Eagles have played strong despite suffering injuries.
On Feb. 1, the Eagles traveled to Idaho to take on the North Idaho College Cardinals.
The game proved to be a successful roadie for the Eagles who easily defeated the Cardinals, 67-58.
Megan Valgardsen was the top scorer for the Eagles with 16 points.
Valgardsen also pulled down nine rebounds and blocked three shots during the SWAC conference game.
Lindsey Arnoldus followed in scoring with 15 points. Arnoldus also dished out five assists and stole five balls during the game.
Rounding out double figure scoring was Alex Cobb with 13 and Janeen Nelson with 12 points.
Nelson scored all 12 points off of three-point shots. In fact, Nelson shot 4-4 from the long distance shooting line.
The Eagles bounced back from their road win to host Snow College last Thursday night at the BDAC.
With several players still injured, the team took to the floor like a bunch of troopers.
The Eagles played strong in the first half as they entered the locker room tied, 27-27.
The second quarter proved to be disasterous for the Eagles who lost to the Badgers, 60-53.
Valgardsen once again lead the team in scoring as she posted 16 points.
To add to her game totals, Valgardsen also pulled down eight rebounds and blocked four shots.
Cobb followed in scoring with 10 points and Cassie Warburton finished the SWAC game with eight points.
The Eagles currently stand at 5-5 in SWAC games played and 14-10 overall for the year.
The Eagles look to improve this record this weekend as the team travels to St. George Friday to take on the Dixie Rebels.
CEU will then move on to compete Saturday on the road against the Southern Nevada Coyotes.
The team will return Feb. 22 to the BDAC to compete against Utah Valley Community College Wolverines in one of the final games of the year.
