Joe Moynier drives to the basket in a home game earlier this month. Moynier scored 11 points against the Delta Rabbits last Tuesday night as the Dinos struggled to capture their first victory of the regular season.

The season has not been a walk in the park for the Carbon High Dinos boys basketball team. So far, the Dinos have competed in four games, losing each match up to a Region 8 foe.
The latest in the chain of season losses for the Dinos came last Tuesday night as the Carbon team traveled to Delta to take on the Rabbits. Entering the game, both teams faced the opportunity to capture their first victory of the season. Unfortunately for the Dinos, it wasn’t their turn to win.
Delta jumped out ahead of Carbon 20-15 in the first quarter of play. The Dinos rallied however as they outscored the Rabbits, 17-15 in the second quarter.
The Dinos played their hardest, but to no avail. The Carbon team lost to the Rabbits by the final, 74-64.
In an attempt to edge past the Rabbits, Neal Maynes lead the Dinos in scoring with 31 points. The extraordinary effort failed to push the team over the edge however, the performance was nothing less than impressive.
Joe Moynier followed in scoring with 11 points of his own while Jamal Lewis scored nine and Tyson Hackwell scored five points.
The Dinos will continue their quest for a Region 8 victory this Friday evening as the team hosts the Emery Spartans.
