Students at Mont Harmon Junior High test their handmade paper boat in the pool as part of an experiment which tests boyancy. The students were allowed to use two rolls of duct tape, one roll or wax paper and butcher paper to construct a boat which would hold two students afloat in the pool. The experiment was part of a course on the properties of fluids. To the amazement of many of the students, the boats were able to stay above water for as long as 20 minutes before folding up and sinking to the bottom of the pool. Next, the students will construct hot air balloons made of tissue paper and glue sticks to fullfill course requirements for Terry Bikakis and Pat Noel.
