Lucille Gardner


HELPER – Lucille Anna Johnson Gardner, age 95, passed away Oct. 29, 2002 in Parowan.
She was born Oct. 17, 1907 in Grand Junction, Colo., to Arthur Nelson and Emma Sophia Chelius Johnson. Married Ernest Elwood Gardner Feb. 16, 1924 in Salt Lake City. He died Sept. 15, 1990.
Member of Naomi Chapter 13 and Order of the Eastern Star.
Lucille was a longtime resident of Helper where she was a member of the Helper Ladies Auxiliary Rio Grande Vets 2.
She was a great supporter of Little League baseball in Helper and an active supporter of the Days of ’47.
Survived by son, Donald Keith (Doris) Gardner, Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandsons, Dennis, David, Joey and Jeffery; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters, Mae Hiatt and Betty Rae Hutton.
Funeral service Saturday, November 2, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery.


Lois Hamilton


PRICE – Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lois P. Hamilton, age 78, passed away Oct. 30, 2002 at Castleview Hospital.
She was born Dec. 7, 1923 in Spring Canyon to James Amos and Ora Lee Parry. Married Clarence Merril Hamilton Aug. 5, 1938 in Price.
Lois was a great homemaker and she worked for Carbon School District lunch program and Utah Power & Light. She attended the College of Eastern Utah nursing program.
Survived by her son, Merril J. Hamilton; daughter, Marilyn (Alec) Behunin; son, David (Connie) Hamilton; daughter, Ann (Norm) Smith; daughter, Ginger (Ron) Hills; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Alene Hamilton; granddaughters, Laurie Hamilton and Lori Jo Hamilton; and grandson, Randall James Hamilton.
Funeral Saturday, Nov. 2, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, Price. Viewing service, Friday Nov. 1, 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
