Hole in one witnessed at Carbon Country Club. Last week, Dee Miller scored a hole in one at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course. The amazing accomplishment occured on hole number six from 130 yards as Miller teed off with a pitching wedge. The hole in one was witnessed by Gary Nelson, Joe Otteson, Arden Mortensen and Greg Wakefield.
Carbon County Recreation to offer kayak workshop. Beginning Oct. 10, Carbon County Recreation will offer a kayak workshop. The workshop will consist of one classroom session and four pool sessions.
The classroom session will be conducted Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Price Community Center while the pool sessions will take place on Fridays beginning Oct. 11. The Friday sessions will be in the late afternoon and early evening hours.
During the classroom session, students will learn about equipment and a brief history of kayaking. The pool sessions are intended to teach students the art of rolling a kayak, as well as basic paddle strokes.
The class size is limited, so early registration is recommended. Private lessons are also available for those who cannot make it to the workshop.
