Carbon County road crews have been working hard since the middle of June repairing and maintaining roads in the county. This example of a process known as chip n’ seal is done during the hottest weather of the year. A coat of tar is put on the asphalt surface and small stones are scattered on the road. Then it is rolled and traffic is allowed on it for a few weeks until the rocks are force into the hot pavement. Carbonville was one of the last areas to receive this treatment this year and with the hot weather ending it will also be the last.
