Annual softball tournament to be held at Green River Melon Days.
Green River will host the 22nd annual mens slow pitch softball tournament Sept. 20-22. This year the tournament sponsors would also like to include a coed tourney. If any teams are interested in competing in a coed softball tournament during the Melon Days festivities, contact Lucas or Victoria Shorts at 435-564-8479 for more information, but do so quickly, a limited number of teams are allowed.
BMX race scheduled for Aug. 23 in East Carbon.
The East Carbon Police Department will conduct a BMX race Aug. 23. Those interested in participating must be members of the American Bicyle Association. Registration will take place prior to the races beginning at approxiametly 6 p.m. with the races following at 7:30 p.m. Getting youth involved in community events is the main focus of the event. Anyone interested in either participating or watching the competition can find the race track on the Grassy Trail in East Carbon. Together with the community, the East Carbon police hope to make the event one which Carbon County residents can be proud of.
