Assisted by a city employee, Daughters of Utah Pioneers president Charmaine Matthews and treasurer Lola Nelson plant two trees in Price’s Heritage Park. DUP members gathered in Price last Friday to commemorate 100 years of community involvement and unveil a memorial plaque. The organization’s primary function is to focus on remembering pioneer ancestors and the group’s 2002 theme is ‘Honor the Past and Look to the Future.’ Planting the trees at the park in Price marked 100 years of local service by the members of the group. The DUP is an organization comprised of members whose ancestors were pioneers between 1847 and 1865.
