Carbon County Chamber of Commerce representatives and city officials celebrate the opening of Main Street in downtown Price at a ribbon cutting ceremony last Thursday.
The final phase of the roadway improvement project, which included replacing the street’s surface, laying new sub grade and upgrading the utilities, was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
‘This will be a great benefit to the future growth of the city,’ commented Mayor Joe Piccolo to the people in attendance at the reopening event.
In addition to chamber members and city officials, representatives from H. E. Davis Contractors, Sun Rise Engineering and the Utah Department of Transportation were present at the ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration.
The three-block Main Street project took slightly less than three months to complete, with the first two intersections undergoing improvements opening during the middle of June.
