Several local wrestlers from Price and East Carbon recently traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado and Ogden to compete in the both folkstyle and freestyle wrestling competitions. The events proved to be successful for all the local athletes who competed.
In the Colorado event, Caleb Williams from Price wrestled his way to the state championship in the 40 lbs. weight division and was followed by teammate Colton Sanderson of East Carbon in second place. Zane Rich also finished quite strong with a fourth place finish in the 65 lbs. weight division.
In the Ogden event, Williams once again took state championship honors while Rich placed third in his division. Tyler Johnson finished in second place in the 70 lbs. weight division, while Sam Martinez finished state champion in the 84 lbs. division. Michael Tryon also finished in third place in his respected weight division.
The wrestlers practice in East Carbon and Price and have proven that hard work is the key to victory.
