Dr. Francis Filloux, a pediatrics Neurologist from the University of Utah and Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and Mae Aguayo, local heath care provider with Carbon County, are part of a medical team providing assessments and treatment for many children from Carbon and Emery Counties.
Filloux was in Price Tuesday where he examined several children with neurological problems.
While in Carbon County he also conducted a three-hour workshop at CEU for over 155 parents, teachers, health care providers, physicians and nurses. The workshop covered epilepsy and seizures. Filloux is part of a larger team of doctors and health care providers who visit rural Utah three times a year.
Filloux deals with children who struggle with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, developmental difficulties, and learning disabilities. He conducts diagnostic evaluations and determines what the best treatment is for each particular child.
Filloux was very complimentary of the organization in Carbon and Emery counties. He said that Aguayo and her team at the health department do an excellent job setting up the workshops and working with local parents and teachers in the two county area.
