Verna Johnson


Verna Fassio Johnson “Tootsie” age 74, passed away suddenly April 22, 2002 in Price with her daughter at her side.
She was born July 16, 1927 in Price to James and Glenda Pickup Fassio. Verna married Joe Hills Johnson June 7, 1950 in Price.
She was a member of the LDS Church. As lifelong residents of Price she and Joel contributed much to this community over the years. They were both active in Rotary International and she enjoyed accompanying him to his many banking and civic activities. Verna worked for JC Penney Co. for over 34 years where she cherished her many friendships with associates and customers. Her primary love was her family, supporting her daughter in her musical pursuits and caring for her husband until his death in 1996. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She and her mother “Grammy” cared for each other until her passing in 1999. Thanks to wonderful neighbors and friends she has been able to remain in the home that she cherished.
Verna is survived by her loving daughter, Jan her husband Jay Bryner; their four children, Joshua, Jeni Jo, Jordan and Jaden, all of Sandy. She had a special place in her heart for her nephew, Alan Peterson, wife Lori, and their daughter, Shauntel, of Carbonville. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Joel; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Richard Peterson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m., in the Price LDS 5th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Price City Cemetery.



Anita “Jane” Christensen


PRICE – Our beloved Anita “Jane” Trujillo Christensen, age 50, passed away suddenly in Price April 21, 2002.
She was born Feb. 2, 1952 in Price to Mike and Dora Archunde Trujillo. She was married to Clarence Christensen in Spring Glen June 30, 1988.
Jane enjoyed cooking, crochet, darts and pool. She loved to read and wasn’t truly happy unless she was taking care of someone else. Her greatest joy of her life was her family and her special grandchildren.
She is survived by husband, Clarence; daughters, Misty Dawn (Barry) Walker; Claudia Christensen; sons, Steven (Shellie) Christensen, Justin Russell Busk; and three precious grandchildren. Also her father, Mike R. Trujillo; brother, Leonard (Rose) Trujillo; sisters, Priscilla Wall, Glory (Bill) Ames, Shirley (Ronnie) Fausett, Leova Barnett, Irene Kokal, and Linda (Abel Aragon) Gomez. She was preceded in death by mother, Dora Trujillo; and two brothers, Anthony and Bobby.
Friends may call Fausett Mortuary Chapel in Price Thursday, April 25, 6 to 8 p.m. A vigil service will be held that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, April 26, 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary Chapel with a viewing one hour prior. Interment, Price Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the Carbon Credit Union in her name.



Don Cranford


PRICE/FERRON – Donald S. Cranford, age 68, passed away April 19, 2002 in Price surrounding by family and friends.
Born March 27, 1934 in Danville, Va., to Howard S. and Elsie Me Tipton Cranford. He married Jessie Lou Jensen March 22, 1969. She passed away in 1990.
He worked his entire life as a truck driver and coal miner and was a devoted fan of BYU football.
He is survived by son, Terry McCourt, grandchildren, Tiffany and husband, Russell); Bloomer and Willie McCourt, all of Fruita, Colo.; four great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Cranford and wife, Mickey), of Price; sister-in-law, Joan Cranford, Price; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 24, 1 p.m. in the Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
