DWR to Hold Public Meeting Regarding Doe Permits

By Sun Advocate

Proposals to reduce doe deer permits, increase cow moose permits and eliminate elk control permits are among items people may comment on at a statewide public Regional Advisory Council meeting on April 23. Officials with the Division of Wildlife Resources will present antlerless big game hunting recommendations for Utah’s 2002 seasons at the meeting. RAC citizen representatives will take the public input received at the meeting to the Utah Wildlife Board when it meets May 2 in Moab to approve Utah’s 2002 antlerless addendum.
For the first time, all of Utah’s RAC’s will meet the same evening to receive information from DWR staff during a video conference that will originate from the University of Utah. The interactive conference will be broadcast to the RAC’s at five locations in the state, including Price.
The April 23 RAC meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. Those interested in these issues, may participate and provide their input by attending the meeting in Price at the Carbon High School library, 750 E. 400 N.
