Liz Kobe donates a handmade quilt to Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova. The Utah Girl Scouts Troop 869 member decided to make the quilts after hearing about how wonderful the stuff animal project was with local law enforcement agencies.
The service project may earn Liz an award, but the six multi-colored red and blue quilts she made by hand will provide a lot of comfort to six children in the future.
Cordova indicated that he will have the blankets put in patrol cars for use in emergency or traumatic situations where children are involved.
“The children found a lot of comfort in the stuffed animals that we once gave them. Now, they will have a blanket to bond with,” he said.
Liz is the daughter of Dave and Debby Kobe. It took her about 20 hours to complete the service project.
