The large sign near the corner of Price River Drive and 100 North lies on the ground after coming off its moorings last Friday morning as a cold front blew through the Carbon County area. Other than the Creekview shopping center sign, there was little reported damage from the wind. But Castle Valley residents once again realized it was still winter as temperatures dropped and outside activities took on a definite chill. The winter weather conditions on Soldier’s Summit were so bad that, at times, the canyon was closed to U.S. Highway 6 travelers because of white out conditions.
