Ice accumulating along the rock walls in Price Canyon not only decorates the gorge, but transforms the scenery daily due to temperature changes. People traveling the canyon can readily view the fingers of ice traversing the roadway. But stopping to take a close look can be dangerous. Many flows are in places without pull-off areas so motorists need to be careful. In addition, many of the flows are in the same spot where rocks are frequently dislodged by the expansion and contraction of the ledges due to increasing and decreasing temperatures.
