The Carbon High School girls’ basketball team won its game against West High School last Thursday, defeating the Panthers 64-51.
The Dinos were tied with the Panthers with 13 points at the end of the first quarter, but upped their tally in the second quarter, scoring 19. The Dinos went into halftime leading 32-23. The Dinos kept up their pace after the break, extending their lead to 20 points. Despite the fact that the Panthers were able to score 22 points in the final quarter, the Dinos came away with the victory.
McKenna Sorenson led the Dinos with 15 points, with 12 from the field and three from the free throw line. Cyene Bigelow tallied 14 points, including six from the free throw line. Lindsey Blanc scored 12 for the Dinos with 10 points from the field and two from the free throw line.
Bigelow and Kelsey Sorenson each tallied nine rebounds, with Bigelow snagging five defensive and K. Sorenson grabbing seven defensive.
The Dinos, now 10-2 overall, will host Park City on Thursday, with Varsity tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
