The USU Eastern dance team, under the direction of Coach Brandi Johansen (Pictured), taught as well as danced for over 200 dancers attending a dance clinic in Salt Lake.

The Utah State Eastern Dance Team was featured this month in a collaborative concert and dance clinic in Salt Lake City.
The team was the headlining dance team with a group of high school and junior high school dance teams in an event called the Cottonwood Evening of Dance on November 4.
There were over 200 dancers in attendance with USU Eastern›s dance team under the direction of Coach Brandi Johansen performing a hip hop routine and a staged contemporary piece.
Johansen said the event was a great way to get her team recognition and recruit future USU Eastern dancers.
«Performances like this one help in the recruiting aspect of our program and helps get the word out to schools and studios that we exist,» said Johansen.
Johansen said not only did her team perform well but they represented the school and the team in a professional manner.
«I am proud of both performances that the team gave but I am even more proud in how well they conducted themselves in the clinic and with the other dancers involved,» said Johansen.
This school year you can see the USU Eastern dance team perform at campus events and athletic events.
The program is in its second year under Brandi Johansen and will compete in Nationals in the Spring.
