Alvin Thayne

PRICE – Alvin J. Thayne, age 92, passed away July 29, 2017 at BeeHive Homes of Price. He was born March 23, 1925 in Columbia, Utah, to David Alvin and Harriet Turner Thayne.
Alvin married Barbara Quinn July 22, 1955 in Paramount, Calif. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2014.
Alvin was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a highly respected icon by everyone in his community. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was discharged in May of 1946.
Alvin was a man of many talents. He was self-taught in Spanish speaking and TV repairs. He was a computer guru, a botanist and a family psychologist.
Alvin worked for 20 years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. He also spent 20 years working at IFA with his good friends, Norman and Birdie.
Survived by his loving family, Kathy (Bob) Donathan, Mark Donathan and Kim Fletcher, Lance (Charnae) Donathan, Travis (Rachele) Donathan, Chasity Durrant, Glen Willard Thayne, Lloyd (Ruth) Thayn, Maxine Lindsey Samples, Shaylee, Kashley, Shancie, Kaden, Bayli, Madisen and Abbie Donathan, many loving nieces, nephews and friends at JB’s.
Funeral service, Wed., Aug. 2, 2017, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, Price, Utah. Family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Alvin online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
