The USU Eastern Men’s Basketball team tacked on two more wins to its conference record over its last three games, bringing the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 16-11 and a SWAC record of 3-9.
Most recently, the Golden Eagles took on Snow College on the road on Saturday and came out on top in the exchange 77-68. The Golden Eagles outscored the Badgers by 18 points in the first half and although they slowed down offensively and defensively in the second half, were still able to come away with the win.
Brandon Sly led the team with a stellar 28 points, going 9-14 from the field with three three-pointers and 7-9 from the free throw line. Solomon Rolls-Tyson led on defense with nine defensive rebounds.
On Feb. 4, USUE was served a loss against Salt Lake Community College, losing handily 101-75. Alexander Morrell led the Golden Eagles in the game with 18 points, going 6-9 from the field and 6-9 from the free throw line. Tevin Farris led the team in rebounds with 11, four offensive and seven defensive.
On Jan. 30, the Golden Eagles notched just their second conference win of the season against Colorado Northwestern Community College, a 72-63 win. Sly again led the team in points with 20, going 6-13 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. Sly also tallied eight rebounds in the game, one offensive and seven defensive. Farris also tallied eight rebounds in the game, four offensive and four defensive.
The Golden Eagles will play at home against College of Southern Idaho Thursday at 5 p.m., and will play at home again on Saturday against North Idaho College at 5 p.m. before playing their final game of the season on Feb. 20 against Colorado Northwestern Community College.
