Work has begun on the Main Street phase of Helper’s infrastructure rebuilding project. The first section of the project between Poplar and Ivy Streets is closed to through traffic, but there is parking available on 100 West and pedestrian access to stores. Through traffic is being routed to 100 West via Poplar and Ivy. The rest of Main Street is open from the north side of town to the work zone. Work on this first stretch should be completed by mid-March, according to contractor Knife River.
