Carbon High School kicked off their 2015-2016 school year on August 24.
A new school year means new goals. We asked Mr. Bean, Carbon High School’s principal of four years what his vision was, and what kind of goals he has in mind to make sure Carbon High stays on top:
“Last school year was much different than the previous years. There were some big changes to Carbon High School including, freshman coming to the high school rather than staying at the junior high, the usage of Chromebooks, and many new teachers.
“Last year everyone was kind of nervous about the school getting bigger, and nobody really understood how to use the Chromebooks; it’s already started to go a lot smoother than last year, everyone is settled in, and they’ve started getting the hang of how the Chromebooks work.”
Mr. Bean said he doesn’t want to make too many changes unless necessary for the school because last year was full of changes. The goals, for the most part, are going to stay the same as they used to be; however, he did say that academically he wants the Sage Test scores to remain on the level they were last year or improve. He also wants to see an improvement in school sports, especially football. He hopes to have a good season, and win more games with the addition of the new head football coach, Mr. Huntsman.
