PRICE – Lillian Cannell Bene, age 88, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in Price, Utah peacefully with her family at her bedside.
She was born August 8, 1926 in Denton, England, to Robert and Marion Morgan Cannell. On September 15, 1945, Lillian married Alex Bene, Jr. in Cheshire, England, becoming an English war bride. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 5, 1953. Lillian and Alex together had four children, Jolene Giles, deceased, (Bill), Carol Carlson (Merrill), Alex J. Bene, and Colin R. Bene. After the death of Alex, Lillian married Earl Mylroie Belford.
Lillian enjoyed knitting, spending time with family and she loved to travel. She will be missed greatly by friends and family.
Lillian is survived by three of her children, one sister, Margaret John (Maldwyn) and brother Robert Cannell (Pam), five stepchildren, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husbands Alex and Earl, daughter, brother, Colin Cannell and grandson.
Memorial service, Thursday, June 18, at 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Thursday one half hour prior to services. Interment will follow at the Price City Cemetery.
