Carbon Girls tally another win, 6-1 overall

The Carbon High School girls’ basketball team tallied another win on Tuesday night, this one coming against North Summit in a close battle in which the Dinos came out on top 49-43.
North Summit outscored the Dinos in the first period by three, with the Dinos only tallying nine points in the period. However, they picked up their play in the second period and scored 12 points, but still went into halftime trailing by one.
By the end of the third period, the Dinos had tied the game at 32 points and went into the final period with a clean slate. Outscoring North Summit 17-11 in the final period, Carbon was able to take home the road win.
Senior Jordan Scoggins led the Dinos with 13 points on five field goals including one three-pointer. She also tallied two free throws. Senior Sara Morley scored 11 points on three field goals and five free throws. She also tallied 16 rebounds, a team high, with seven offensive and nine defensive. Junior Lindsey Blanc tallied seven points on two field goals and three free throws. Junior Taylor Passarella tallied four steals in the game.
Carbon, now 6-1 overall in non-region play, returns home to play Uintah on Thursday at 7 p.m. before taking to the road again to face Park City on Friday.
