The Carbon High School boys’ basketball team evened its non-region play record at 4-4 by picking up a win on the road over Tooele on Thursday.
The Dinos got out to a quick lead in the first period scoring 17 points while holding Tooele to a mere five. The Dinos outscored Tooele again in the second period and went into halftime with a 15-point lead
However, the Dinos’ scoring came to a complete halt in the third period as they only mustered six points in the eight minute period, allowing Tooele to pull within four points of tying the game.
The third period finally came to an end for the Dinos and they got back to scoring in the final and were able to bring home the 54-43 win.
Carbon will face a cross-county rival in Emery High School on Tuesday on the road at 7 p.m. After the Christmas holiday, the Dinos will head to the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic.
