HELPER- Patricia Maxine Chavez Sosa, age 63, passed away at home in Helper on December 11, 2015. She was born March 6, 1952 in Price, Utah to Edward and Aurora (Dora) Aguilar Chavez. Patricia married Anulfo (Arnie) Sosa, November 12, 1977 in Helper, Utah.
Patricia was a hairstylist for over 35 years and worked at the Image of Beauty until she retired due to health complications. She loved her job, the people she worked with and all her clientele. Patricia was a very loving and caring person, who put everyone else’s needs first. She was a devoted wife and loved her family very much, mostly her grandchildren who were everything to her. She always would sing “You are my sunshine” to each of her grandkids. A song in which they will always treasure. Patricia was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved to play Bingo with her friend Maria Camacho. She loved to crochet and made beautiful blankets, hats, baby booties and doll clothes. She made tamales which everyone loved. Everyone who knew her knows what a beautiful and good hearted person she was.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years; children, Junior (Nicole) Sosa, Araceli (Tony) Chacon, Mary Jane (Danny) Martinez, Lisa Beltran; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Eugene (Julie) Baca, John Baca, James (Ruth) Chavez, Ed (Monica) Chavez; sisters, Gloria (Marion) Hamaker, Tina (Juan) Serna. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Baca; nephew, Jason Hamaker. Funeral service, Thursday, December 17, 2015, 1:00 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. In lieu of flowers the family has set up an account at Utah Power Credit Union in Memory of Patricia under Gloria Hamaker.
