She attended the little Middleton Country School until completing her last two years at Hot Springs County High School in Thermopolis, Wyo.
On Sept. 15, 1929, she was united in marriage to Vernon D Slane in Thermopolis, Wyo. To that union, five children were born, Walter D., Vernon William, Jeanette Alice, John Chandler and Bertie Bea. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

In 1996 until her death, she resided in Wellington before spending her last two weeks at her son’s home in Grace, Idaho.
She was very dedicated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding various offices including Relief Society president and Sunday School teacher for many years. For several years, she also taught seminary.
Georgia was very active in the VFW auxiliary and War Mother auxiliary, including past president of both chapters.
In her younger years, she loved to sew and knit, visit and play games with family and friends, camping and fishing. In recent years, her time was taken up by family history and reading.
