Going into the locker room at half time knotted at 27 it looked like the Carbon girls had a good shot at taking down rival Emery. But when the final buzzer sounded the girls had fallen 53 -39.
“They couldn’t miss and we couldn’t get a shot to drop there at the end,” said Carbon Coach Cami Carlson.
The girls kept the game close right up until the waning moments of the last period, but once the Dinos were forced to start fouling the deficit began to grow.
“Emery is a good team and I really feel like the region title is going to come down to us and them,” said Carlson. “It would mean a lot to our girls to go down there and get a win in February, that is what we are working for.”
Things won’t get any easier for the Dinos with perennial powerhouse Morgan coming to town Friday.
