The Carbon swim teams headed up to Ogden recently to participate in the Ogden Invitational meet. Ten teams swam at the meet and the Carbon girls brought home sixth place with 131 points.The Carbon Boys dug out an eighth place finish with 64 points.
Coach Phylis Cox was happy with the results. “Carbon did great. This is a building year for the Carbon swim team. We are building the depth in our team that we have desperately needed as well as improving our speed and qualifying for state.” She continued, “Next year looks even more promising. We encourage anyone interested in swimming for Carbon High next year to swim at the Desert Wave with the age group swim team, the Barracudas! This will help our team tremendously!” The team has been at a disadvantage recently because they have had limited room to practice since the Wave Pool has been drained. They have to share space with the dive team and the lack of solid lap time has had its effect on the team.
