Carbon High Class of 1953 reunion – is planned Aug. 8 through Aug. 10 at the Price Greenwell Inn.

Food handlers classes – Two-hour sessions are scheduled May 20 and June 18 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health department in Price.
Classes will also be taught May 22 and June 19 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health district office in Castle Dale

Learn to speak, understand English – Small group sessions are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 150 South 500 East in Price.
Gallery East student art show – will be on display through April 28.
Located on the CEU campus in Price, the gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cinco de’ Mayo – The celebration will be presented May 10 at the East Carbon Viking Park. The even will include games, food and entertainment.
Immunization clinic hours – Clinics are scheduled at Southeastern Utah Health District Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Women’s cancer screening – Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for a free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms.

Golden Rule Mission – is accepting household, clothing and food donations. Household and clothing items should be in good conditions. Food items should not be outdated.

Free legal clinics – Utah Legal Services has scheduled free clinics the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 7th District Court complex, located at 149 East 100 South in Price.
Residents should bring all pertinent documents pertaining to legal questions. For information, residents may contact the agency toll-free at 1-800-662-1563.
Carbon County Animal Shelter – AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Carbon County RSVP – Residents who would like to lend a helping hand or need the assistance of volunteers may contact the Price RSVP program at 637-9118 or call the East Carbon office.
Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center – offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old.
The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence.
Parenting classes are scheduled Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The center is also collecting donations for displaced families.
Furniture items will be accepted only if the center has families in need. For information, call the center at 637-0281.
Child care resource and referral – For information on reserving a spot at upcoming child care provider orientation classes, local residents may contact Avis Burrows at 636-2355.
Applications for startup grants are available at the child care resource and referral office at CEU.
Cell phones for seniors – are available at Carbon County RSVP.
The program provides cell phones that dial 911 in emergencies at no cost to participants.

Price library – Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and closed Sunday.
Story time is scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m.
Girls group activities are planned April 23.
English as a second language classes are Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Basic literacy classes are scheduled as needed.

Helper beautification project – focuses on improving Main Street, the river walkway and city cemetery.
Donations may be placed in piggy banks at various businesses or deposited in the Helper community development account at Balance Rock Credit Union, 100 West 200 North.
Carbon Family Resource Center – Story time is Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. The free lending library includes items for children, teens, parents and grandparents.
