Memorial Day services – Local veteran groups will conduct ceremonies honoring American military service members on May 26.

Free immunizations – will be offered May 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. for children ages 0 to 35 months old at Helper Clinic. Immunizations for eligible children ages 3 to 18 years will be available for a nominal fee. For information, local residents may contact the clinic at 472-7000.

Food handlers classes – Two-hour sessions are scheduled May 20 and June 18 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the health department in Price.

Carbon County Animal Shelter – AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center – offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old.
The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, support meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence.

Cell phones for seniors – are available at Carbon County RSVP. The program provides cell phones that dial 911 in emergencies at no cost to participants.

Helper beautification project – focuses on improving Main Street, the river walkway and city cemetery.
Donations may be placed in piggy banks at various businesses or deposited in the Helper community development account at Balance Rock Credit Union, 100 West 200 North.
Carbon Family Resource Center – Story time is Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. The free lending library includes items for children, teens, parents and grandparents.
