Emery Weber

HELPER – Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Emery Francis Weber, age 73, passed away Feb. 15, 2008 in his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1934 in Isabella, Okla., to Emery Hal and Marjorie Blake Weber. He was the second of four children born in the family home attached to the filling station that his father operated. Married Jerry Eastin, they later divorced. They have two children, four granddaughters and one grandson.
Emery graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Kansas in 1960 and was a lifelong Jayhawks fan. He worked many years for the U.S. Geological Survey, surveying for topographical maps from the Canadian to the Mexican border, and in a number of large information processing businesses.
While living in New Mexico after retirement, he started working at Wal-Mart to keep himself busy.
In 2005, he moved to Helper and again started working for Wal-Mart in the electronics department until his passing.
A radio enthusiast almost from birth, with a stockpile of parts always at hand, Emery always had an interest in electronics, computers and tech gadgets.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We will forever feel his loss.
Survived by his son, Gary (Bobbi) Weber, Riverton; daughter, Pam (Ken) Duckworth, Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Ivan (Linda) Weber, Salt Lake City; sister, Carol Jones, Mulberry, Fla.; uncle, Phil Blake, Wichita Kan.; former wife, Jerry Weber, Jamestown, Colo.; grandchildren, Andrew Weber, Elizabeth (Clark), Ashley (Sean), Jennifer and Savanna; many nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Abbot.
His son, Gary, would like to extend a special thanks to Vivian and Bob Teny of Price and Irene and Bill VanSoelen of Helper for taking him into their families and giving him comfort.
A family memorial will be scheduled this summer in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
