Mary J. Fowler
EAST CARBON – Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Mary Jones Fowler, age 85, passed away July 1, 2007 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 6, 1922 in Castle Gate to Alexander L. and Johanna Reed Jones. Married Jay H. Fowler Sr., June 16, 1939 in Castle Dale; he died Aug. 18, 1984. Marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Carbon County, where she raised her family and was a very active community member.
She had a fierce love for family.
She enjoyed music, crocheting, dancing, camping and especially family get togethers.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and lover her.
Survived by her daughters, Jaylene (Angelo) Marakis, East Carbon; Penny Long, Grand Junction, Colo.; Ricki (Jeff) Palmer, East Carbon; grandchildren, Lisa, Angelo, Lindsay, Taylor, KyLeigh and Halyn; great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Bryan, Casey and Josh; and great-great-granddaughter, JayCee. Preceded in death by her husband; son, Jay H. Fowler Jr.; and son-in-law, Loren L. Long.
Funeral service Friday, July 6, 10 a.m., East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell’s daily. Interment, Valley View Cemetery.
