Members of the Price Lions Club recently made a trip to the Boy Scouts of America summer camp at Scofield to work on the Trading Post.
The Trading Post was placed at the camp through the Price Lions and the club tries to maintain the building on a regular basis.
The building is a favorite among scouts because the Trading Post sells items such as stamps, craft supply items, soda, and candy.
The project was headed by Barry Cook of the Price Lions Club.
The members of the Price Lions completed the project just as the camp training meeting was about to serve dinner. The members were invited to eat with the group and enjoyed a program before returning to Price.
The Scofield camps will serve hundreds of scouts from across Utah and surrounding areas in the summer.
When asked “Why varnish the post?” Lion Cardell Sackett replied, “Even a barn door looks better with a fresh coat of paint.”
The men stayed at the post all afternoon until the entire outside had been treated and varnished. It was a successful project that paid off with some delicious pumpkin and cherry pie.
The Lions are an international service organization involved in many projects throughout the world.
