Spring break 2007 found most College of Eastern Utah students on their own hanging out with their friends and family. The SUN Center’s spring break took 14 students and its director, Kathy Murray, to the Navajo Reservation near Bluff. Kathy Murray, Aaron Atwood, Tom Hebdon, Heather Gray, Evan Peyton, Lee Nelson, Jenn Breitenbuecher, Steven Stansfield, Emily Erickson, Eve Guymon, Jesika Henderson, Maria Bjarnson, Angie Crane, and Danielle Olsen added a helping hand to many projects. They stayed in an Episcopalian Mission in Bluff. Some of the projects include building an outhouse (which was designed by Jordan Grange and pre-manufactured by CEU’s construction class),�24 x 48 foot corral, applying caulking to windows on two houses, weeding, installing fencing around a garden, repairing two corrals, a shed roof and shade shelters. All of these projects were for the elderly or disabled. Students had the opportunity to meet wonderful people and learn about the Navajo culture and its traditions. While working on the garden project, a lady brought out a large bowl of authentic Navajo fry bread. The worst part for the students was the limited cell phone service in the area.�A big thanks goes out to Active Re-Entry and United�Way of Southeastern Utah�for sponsoring this unforgettable trip.�
