CEU theater students are in rehearsals for a Utah Premiere, the “Poseidon Adventure: The Musical” which is coming to the Geary Theatre.

The theater department at the College of Eastern Utah announced recently that a Utah premiere will be presented for the final production of the year.
The Poseidon Adventure: The Musical! will play March 29-31 and April 2-3 at the Geary Theatre, 451 East 400 North in Price. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m.
Big boat, big trouble, big cast and big fun in this musical adaptation of the 1972 cult classic disaster film. This original production, adapted and written by William Robens, has only been performed in Los Angeles until now.
“I saw the original production in Los Angeles five years ago. Since then, it has been on my list of shows I wanted to direct. It is truly funny and a great parody of an even greater film,” states Todd Olsen, the shows director.
The college is inviting the public to the Utah premiere of this funny, irreverent, yet heartfelt homage to one of the best disaster films of all time. It’s hell, upside down set to music. Join Belle, Manny, Mr. and Mrs. Rogo, Susan, Robin, Nonie, Acres, Mr. Martin and Reverend Scott as they battle a sinking boat and make their way to the topthrough the bottom.
Olsen says there is one warning though. The first three rows of the Geary Theater will be designated as a splash zone, so anyone seated their may get wet or killed.
The cast of the production includes Chandler Durrant, Phillip Smith, Jordan Elkins, Michael Mutchler, Ashley Leavitt, Daniel Thompson, Kylee Bird, Elizabeth Miller and Andrew Barrus.
