Carbon County
•U.S. 6 Helper Interchange. Project includes the construction of a grade-separated interchange on U.S. Highway 6 at North Main Street in Helper. The interchange will feature a bridge over Main Street with new on- and off-ramps onto U.S. 6. Crews are currently building retaining walls and placing pipe culverts under the bridge. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a reduced speed limit. Motorists should expect minimal delays. Project completion is expected in July 2008.
•U.S. 6 south of Helper Project includes the paving of U.S. Highway 6 from Helper to the golf course. Crews are currently performing shoulder and driveway work and plan to start paving June 11 when traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with a reduced speed limit. Motorists should expect minimal delays. Project completion is expected in July 2007.
Emery County
•SR 10 south of Ferron (about 20 miles north of I-70). Project includes lane-leveling operations, paving and sealing a 10-mile section of State Route 10 at the south end of Ferron. Crews plan to begin work in mid to late June with traffic reduced to one lane in alternating directions as directed by flaggers and pilot cars. Motorists can anticipate delays of up to 20 minutes in each direction. Project completion is expected by October 2007.
•U.S. 6 Milepost 283-288 (about 10 miles north of I-70). Project includes the addition of uphill passing lanes. Crews are currently paving the roadway. Traffic is reduced to one lane in alternating directions as directed by flaggers and pilot cars during working hours (Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes during working hours. Project completion is expected by fall 2007.
Grand County
•Bridge over I-70 at Floy Wash (MP 175). Project includes the repair of damaged bridge girders. Crews are currently tying steel together for the bridge deck. North- and south-bound traffic over the bridge is reduced to one lane in alternating directions as directed by a temporary traffic signal. Westbound traffic on I-70 is unimpeded. Motorists should expect minimal delays. Project completion is expected in late June 2007.
•U.S. 191 Milepost 147-151 (about 15 miles north of Moab). Project includes the addition of passing lanes. Crews are currently excavating shoulder areas of the roadway and plan to pave the week of June 11. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction with a reduced speed limit of 55 miles per hour. Traffic is periodically delayed by flaggers as trucks enter and exit the project site.Motorists should expect minimal delays. Project completion is expected in July 2007.
