Don Lavon Erickson
HELPER – Our loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Don Lavon Erickson, age 50, passed away unexpectedly in the Crandall Canyon mine tragedy Aug. 6, 2007.
He was born March 20, 1957 in Price to Erick and Lucille Erickson. Don married Dalene Swanson in March 1976 and later divorced. Together, they had two sons, Brandon and Brian. He then married the love of his life, Nelda Hardman Olsen, on Dec. 9, 1989 in Price.
He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1975.
Don was a coal miner for several mines in the area. He drove semi-truck for several companies, Darrel Taylor out of Roosevelt; TN Jensens, Price; and Savage in Wellington. He also worked for Helper Auto in Helper for many years as a store manager and a tow truck operator, which he enjoyed.
His love for the outdoors took him camping, four-wheeling, going for drives, boating, fishing and playing in the mud with his Jeep.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for his favorite driver, Matt Kenseth.
Don also liked spending quality time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones.
Don is survived by his wife; Nelda Erickson, Helper; his little bud, Rocky; his sons, Brandon ( Claudia) Erickson, Salt Lake; Brian Erickson, Grand Junction, Colo.; Kevin and Cody Olsen, Roosevelt; daughter, Amanda (Mike) Romero, Germany; eight beautiful grandchildren, Wyatt, Aspen, Alaura, Erika, Lane, Kyler, Kiara and Desmond; his parents, Erick and Lucille Erickson, Price; brothers, Terry (Luanna) Erickson, Price; Rick Erickson, Wisconsin; sister, Gaylene Arensdorf (Brian) Salt Lake; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorial services will be Friday, Sept. 14, 3 p.m., at the Helper Civic Auditorium, 19 South Main.

Manny Sanchez
PRICE – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, Manuel Arturo “Manny” Sanchez, age 42, passed away Aug. 6, 2007 in the Crandall Canyon mine disaster.
He was born Nov. 26, 1964 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro and Apolonia Bueno Sanchez. Married Marta Ramirez March 11, 1984 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Manny loved spending time with his family and friends fishing, hunting and going camping.
He enjoyed working on his truck and in his yard. He enjoyed listening to good music very loud.
Survived by his wife, Marta Sanchez, Price; children, Aydaliz (Jeremy) Peacock, Arturo Sanchez, Ariana (Shay) Montag, Apolonia Sanchez; father, Pedro S. Sanchez, all of Price; seven brothers and two sisters, Silvia Garcia Sanchez, Phoenix, Ariz.; Jose Angel Sanchez, Canpeche, Mexico; Pedro Sanchez, Denver, Colo; Jaime Sanchez, Phoenix, Ariz.; Maria Elena Buenrostro, Omaha, Neb; Javier Sanchez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Cesar Sanchez, Price; Gilberto Sanchez, Omaha, Neb.; Carlos Sanchez, Farmington, N.M; two grandchildren, Cienna Peacock and Ziaiden Montag. Preceded in death by his mother Apolonia Sanchez.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, Sept. 15, noon, Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family will be at the church Saturday morning at 11:30.
Kerry V. Allred
CLEVELAND – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Kerry V. Allred, age 57, passed away Aug. 6, 2007 in the Crandall Canyon mine disaster.
He was born Sept. 29, 1949 in Price to Vonal Knight and Agnes Irene Oviatt Allred. Married Bessie James Aug. 12, 1972 in Salina Springs, Ariz.
Kerry loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing the guitar and going to Sunday barbecues.
Kerry loved to make people laugh and was always willing to help them. He enjoyed hot rod cars and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He will always be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife, Bessie Allred, Cleveland; children, Tifani (Mike) Marasco, Helper; Cody Allred, Salt Lake City; TyLee Allred, Cleveland; mother, Agnes Allred, Cleveland; brothers, Frank (Nancy) Allred, Miller Creek; Steve (Ginger) Allred, Cleveland; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Vonal Knight Allred.
Memorial service, Thursday, Sept. 13, 11 a.m., Cleveland City Park. Family will be at the park one-half hour prior to service.
Taylor Lyn Mower
PRICE – Our little angel, Taylor Lyn Mower, returned to our Father in Heaven on Sept. 8, 2007.
She was born on June 23, 2007 in Price to Krista Mower.
Although her time with us was all too short, the void that remains with her passing can never be filled.
Taylor brought great joy and peace to everyone who had the good fortune of meeting her.
Her precious memories will live on in our hearts forever.
She leaves behind her mother, Krista Mower, to cherish her; her big sister, Brooklyn Mower; grandpa, Joe Mower; nana, Debbi Mower; aunt, Shelbi Mower; uncle, Jayce James, all of Price; cousins, Shania and Maegen Mower, Wellington; Ericka Jo Deck, Illinois; Payton James, Price; great-grandparents, Sonny and Carol Carrigan, Moab; Henry and Betty Mower, Payson; and a large extended family. Preceded in death by her uncle, Donavon Mower.
Funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m., Price 3rd LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to service. Taylor will be laid to rest with her uncle in the Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
Margaret Marrelli
PRICE – Our loving sister, mother and friend, Margaret Marrelli, age 72, passed away Sept. 8, 2007 in Price.
Born Aug. 23, 1935 in Mohrland to Sam Sr. and Josephine Farlaino Marrelli.
Margaret returned to Carbon County in 1992 and became a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.
She will be dearly missed by her friends and care givers at Four Corners.
Survived by two brothers, Sam Jr. (Gayle) Marrelli; Lester (Rae Ann) Marrelli; one sister, Rosie Schenck; three sons, Chris Lucero; Michael (Annette) Lucero; Vince Lucero; daughter, Josephine (Ismael) Orozco; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Collistro; Pauline West; infant sister, Jose T. Marrelli; brothers, Joseph and Lawrence “Moose” Marrelli; son, Arthur Lucero; and her former husband, Chris Lucero Sr.

Bernard ‘Buzz-Buss’ Cline
EAST CARBON – Bernard W. Cline 88, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at his home in East Carbon. He has returned to be with his true love after spending 11 years apart.
Born Aug. 14, 1919 in Cedar Rapids, Neb., to James Lloyd and Marie Catharine (Ade) Cline.
He worked for and retired from U.S. Steel. He was co-owner and operator and kept books for the theaters and the Starlite Drive-In in Dragerton and Sunnyside for 35 years.
He met Beth Turner, the love of his life, in Salt Lake City. They dated everyday for two weeks until he was shipped overseas to serve his country in World War II.
She waited four and a half years for his return. Three and a half of those years, he was a POW. No one knew if he was dead or alive.
After his return in 1945, they married Jan. 5, 1946 in Sunnyside and later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
They traveled the world.Their kind and loving hearts made long lasting friendships.
Together, they had two children, daughter Candyce Jaramillo and son Kevin Wayne (Dena) Cline. He has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Lisa Reynolds (Shane) Nebeker, Ka1in, Danica, Cassadee Nebeker; Jay, Kirk, Nikki (Christy) Jaramillo; Christina, Sammie and KayDanse; Kevin James (Kalai) Cline. He has a brother, Eugene (Florence) Cline; a sister, Uarda (Vern) Damkroger; and a special friend, Jeanne Pitts. Preceded in death by Beth T. Cline and his parents.
The bank employees will miss you. Those behind you on the highway, maybe not.

A viewing in your honor will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, at the East Carbon LDS Chapel at 11 a.m. Viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church
Dad will be placed to rest in the Wellington City Cemetery following the services.
James Dale Seely
PLEASANT GROVE – James Dale Seely, 81 of Pleasant Grove, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at his home.
He was born Sept. 27, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, the second of seven children, to Ruel Hazard and Anna Eula Jorgensen Seely. He married Gloria Cleo Nelson on Nov. 19, 1945 in the Manti LDS Temple. Gloria passed away on Feb. 10, 2004.
Dale attended schools in Mt. Pleasant and graduated from North Sanpete High School. He later graduated from Snow College with a degree in business and received a degree in accounting from BYU.
After graduating from BYU, he worked at Geneva Steel for a number of years. He later earned his teacher’s certification from BYU and taught school for 27 years at Grovecrest Elementary.
Dale served as scoutmaster for many years and loved the scouting program. He served in many church callings during his life, including several bishoprics and stake high councils.
He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, and working in his garden.
He survived rearing three children, Nelson Dale (Patricia) Seely, Lewiston; Lynn Ruel (Darlene) Seely, Pleasant Grove; Cheryl (Clyde) Morgan, Fountain Green. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Boyd (Betty) Seely, Cedar Hills; Helen (J.H.) Harvey, American Fork; Leone (Ross) Smith, Thatcher, Idaho.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 455 East 200 South. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.

Molly M. Harrison
EAST CARBON – Molly M. Harrison, age 84, died Sept. 6, 2007 at the Bee Hive Home Assisted Living Center in Price.
She was born May 14, 1923 in Wellington to Collier E. Worley and M. Maude Tidwell. She married Rex Ezra Harrison on Oct. 25, 1941 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in May 1975.
Molly enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and loved the outdoors. She loved working for the senior center in East Carbon, where she was a cook for many years. Molly took great pleasure in the trips she took with them.
She served on the Carbon Medical board of directors for many years and was a volunteer on the bookmobile.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings.
Molly also enjoyed the many temple trips she took over the years.
Molly centered her life around her children, grandchildren, family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her three children, Terry (Doris) Harrison, East Carbon; Dick (Jan) Harrison, North Ogden; and Brent (Dawna) Harrison, Clearfield; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mac Worley, Price; and Lee (Diane) Worley, Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; parents; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; brother, Fred Worley; and sister, Irene Salzette.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 8, at the East Carbon LDS Chapel. Interment was in the Wellington City Cemetery.
