By Sun Advocate

Carbon cross county continues to show their best times meet after meet as the long season continues.
On Sept. 11 Patricia Smith finished first in the three mile run by 150 yards over her closest competitor.
According to coach Stew Foster many on the team continue to show major promise, Carbon placed fourth out of seven teams in the Uintah Invitational.
Next Carbon traveled to Richfield for their invitational where Smith placed fourth out of 71 girls and Kent Olsen took 28th out of 137 boys.
On Sept 19 the Dinos competed at Spanish Fork where Smith again placed first this time out of 110 girls as the Dinos were competing with 14 other teams.
She finished the three mile course in 20 minutes and 31 seconds even though she was ill at the meet, according to Foster.
In the boys group, Olsen stayed at the front of the pack for most of the race before falling back with a time of 18:14.
Foster reported that the second boys runner to finish was Jared Richens, followed by Andrew Bates, Robert Lowe and Brett Wells respectively. Again all Carbon runners posted their best times to date.
The Dinos will be running at home on Sept. 26 at the Carbon High School track.
