Relay for Life preliminary activities across the community

Participants in the 2003 Relay for Life let go of balloons on the then new Carbon High football field.

It’s not to late to get a team together for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life 2007 in Carbon County. The relay will begin on Friday, June 15 and will go on until Saturday. To find out how to participate in the relay call Ruth Metzger, Team Recruitment Chair at 650-4552.
Here are events related to the Relay for Life that are going on in the community as well.
•Community Nursing Services will be selling Avon through April 24 in conjunction with the relay. The profit from these sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society and CNS’s relay team will receive credit. Ask your CNS volunteer or call Heather Marrelli at 613-8848.
•The Carbon Emery Board of Realtors will be selling Spaghetti Dinner tickets for our 3rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner to be held on May 3 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the United Methodists Church, 10 N. 200 East in Price. Profits from this dinner go to the cancer fund as well. For more information or to purchase tickets contact any realty office or contact Irene 636-6720.
•The Albertson’s Relay For Life team will hold it’s 2nd Annual Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament on May 5 and 6 at the Gateway Lanes. It will start at 4 p.m. For more information call Sonny Buscarini 637-7279.
•The Carbon Emery Board of Realtors will be selling Avon through April 24. The profits from these sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the Board of Realtor’s team will receive credit. Orders can be placed with a favorite realtor or call Ruth 650-4552
•Pinnacle Canyon Academy has the following fundraisers scheduled to raise money for their American Cancer Society Relay For Life team. May 4 is a school event where students may duct tape a teacher to the wall for a donation. This will take place at the school. On May 7 they will hold a carwash at the Market Express on Carbonville Road by Burger King. On May 19, starting at 9 a.m., they will hold a rummage sale at the school. •The Castle Valley Center is selling personalized wood name signs for homes or trailers. For more information call Castle Valley Center at 613-9150. The Castle Valley Center is also accepting donations for a quilt which is on display at the school at 755 Cedar Hills Drive, Price.
